Testimonials

“Sarah has extraordinary skill in understanding each different member of her classes  , above all in  getting them to position their limbs in the correct position to maximise the benefit of each exercise and every action. The result is that after an hour of her training one  always actually genuinely feels hugely better all over.”

“Sarah is a superb pilates teacher. I really look forward to her lessons – always fun and never repetitive. She seems to know exactly how far she can push us. It’s really important for me as it helps keep my strength going “

“Sarah is unique. Her dedication to fitness and body improvement is second to none and her passion for truly helping others is what sets her apart from many other fitness teachers - whether it’s yoga, Pilates or more general fitness training.  She isn’t a “look at me, watch me, follow me” instructor.  She devotes her knowledge and efforts to her clients improvement.  Her observations and rehabilitation exercises have proved, on many occasions, to be more accurate and effective than any physio.  Her technique and experience in teaching enables her to communicate extremely well with her clients.  As an instructor myself, I owe a huge amount of my accrued knowledge to Sarah who, right from the start - nearly 25 years ago - has instilled in me the absolute and fundamental need to execute exercises precisely and accurately whatever one’s level.  No cutting corners, no cheating, no laziness.  And above all - how to learn to LOVE exercise and how to appreciate and look after one’s body while having fun with one of the funniest people I know!!”

“I am an x nurse and have had back problems for many years. Since joining Sarah ‘s class she has helped me enormously to improve and to maintain the improvement.

I have every confidence in Sarah particularly because of her excellent knowledge of musculature.”

“I have been having Pilates and strength sessions with Sarah for 8 years.  In 2015 I had spinal surgery and she was instrumental in getting back on track.  Without those sessions, my recovery wouldn’t have been as quick or successful.  The strength of my core was a significant factor in my recovery. I now rely on Sarah keeping me strong and fit.  You’re the best Sarah!!”

“My name is Julian Rhodes and I have spent my whole life doing various sport, from swimming to National Standard; cycling on local and continental rides and I have played squash for 30 years. I have been club captain at WSRC, based at Booker in High Wycombe, for the last 3 years.

I have been doing Sarah’s classes, both yoga and lately pilates, for about 15 years. I have always found her approach very tailored and personal to individuals – she engages and tries to get the best out of everyone; challenging all to become stronger and more flexible, no matter what your age is, fitness or ability. Her understanding of human physiology has grown over the years and she is able to advise very specific exercise for people with injuries too. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!”

After a fall I sustained a slipped disk in my back, I could bearly walk due to the pain. After doctors advice of rest, I started on to what I thought would be a long road to recovery. I had been recommended Sarah, so I approached her and asked if she could help me. Sarah spent time with me to understand my injuries and what I wanted to achieve, I was desperate to go back to playing sport, at the point of my injury I never thought it was possible. Sarah worked with me and made sure I understood the goal, we worked together every week, before you knew it I was back playing sport again, stronger than ever. I still meet with Sarah now, as I feel Pilates has actually helped me in more ways than one, I’m stronger, more flexible and have so much more energy. Sarah has a lovely demeanour, she cares a great deal about her clients and is excited to see the results.

“Sarah has been my Pilates instructor for 10 years. She is a dedicated instructor, encouraging and supportive with a deep knowledge of her subject. Sarah challenges  you to stretch that bit further.
At 54, I am without doubt fitter and stronger since starting Pilates because of her brilliant teaching.”

My consultants all recommend that I should keep as active as possible to protect and keep me as healthy as is possible given my restraints

Over the years I have belonged to various gyms and attended many different types of classes, being guided by a multitude of ‘trainers ‘ over the years

I joined Danesfield House a couple of years ago and attended a Pilates class that was being taken by Sarah. I was a professional dancer before my cancer hit, and so I have good sound knowledge of knowing how important it is to exercise correctly. What impressed me so much about Sarah was that she was so aware of each individuals needs and limitations within her class. She had her attention on everyone within the class, correcting them if needed. A very professional switched on and aware fitness trainer indeed. She is very knowledgable regarding the structure of the human body and how to take care of it. Her classes are structured and very professionally run but includes fun and enjoyment too, the perfect combination.

Bearing in mind my limitations I have found it difficult in the past finding a good fitness instructor that would understand the damage to my heart and feel confident that they will look after me, within a careful and sensible training programme up my stamina and strength. After getting the necessary letter from my consultant confirming it was safe for me to do low impact training, I ask Sarah to take me on. I had not trained for some years and was nervous. She soon put my mind at rest talking me through and teaching me Pilates. She also included training me using the various gym equipment. Slowly but surely over the weeks and months I was so surprised how my strength and fitness improved. Simple things in life that most people take for granted ....walking n talking without becoming breathless, climbing stairs, housework chores, lifting shopping all became less exhausting. I was amazed she had improved my fitness so much. It brought such happiness to my mind and body to have reached these fitness levels.

I am so grateful for Sarah’s support and encouragement during my training sessions with her. She has succeeded with me where other trainers have failed me over the years. She manages to always lift my spirit. Her positive attitude to fitness and life is infectious and I am very thankful to her for looking after me, making sure I am safe during my training sessions with her.

I have attended Sarah’s classes for many years and have always been impressed by the way she continues to keep the classes interesting - you never know what is coming from one week to the next so you never get bored. Her wonderfully warm and sparkling personality shines through - a true tonic on the occasional days when you walk in feeling miserable!! Sarah always lifts my spirits. However it has been working with Sarah on a one to one basis over the past few years after a shoulder injury that has made me appreciate what a special trainer she is . Her knowledge of the musco/skeletal system is excellent and she continues to learn and deepen her own understanding of the human body so as she can best help her clients. My shoulder strength and flexibility would not be what it is today without Sarah’s finely tuned training.

I have been to Sarah’s classes for several years now on a weekly basis. With both my knees replaced and wanting to retain a certain level of fitness and joint suppleness, I have found her classes have helped enormously. Sarah is very empathetic to my limited movement and always advises accordingly.
